Maryam Sirvan is an Iranian sound artist and electronic music composer based in Tbilisi (Georgia). Since 2010 she is also a member of electronic duo 'NUM' as composer, lyricist, vocalist and flautist.
Her solo works range from music concrete to noise music where the listener can find vivid textured sonic structure created with many layers and details. Her debut album 'Untamed Terror' is a clear example of the way she creates deep sonic perspectives with her compositions.

I did not find this the easiest or most immediate album to get into on first listen, but on repeated listens it is really growing on me. Moody Iranian experimental ambient with scraping/droning strings, field recordings, noise, hypnotic folky vocals, and a slightly chaotic, dislocated vibe all of its own. Unusual, haunting, and recommended if you have time to dig past the surface. Very rewarding.
